Meet people prepared to show you the best of Aachen!
I share a two-bedroom apartment with my 12 years old daughter. My bedroom is also our living room. In both bedrooms we have a sleeping couch for two, so sleeping arrangements can be made flexible. We live in a calm and village-like quarter, where you can find the most important shops. It's not far to the centre on foot or by bus. The train station is also in walking distance. You are welcome to use the kitchen and I am willing to share our food with you, but please make your contribution as well. Perhaps we can cook and dine together. You are not allowed to smoke inside our apartment, but feel free to go outside to do so. Kids are very welcome at our place as are well-behaving dogs.
I can offer you a room under the roof (5th floor) with a mattress. (Now with electric heating, but without bathroom/toilet). However bathroom/kitchen/washing machine/internet access are available on ground floor in my appartment. You have to buy your own food (but of course we can also cook together). The apartment is situated at 10 minutes walking distance from train station "Bahnhof Aachen Rothe Erde", and a 15 minutes bus ride from the city centre of Aachen. The city of Aachen offers many historical places (the European kings were crowned in Aachen in the middle ages). In a blink of an eye you can get to Belgium or the Netherlands from here.
I'll be moving here on September 30, I'm in Cologne until then. I will be living with a lady and her two children in an apartment. I will have my own room, but I only have one bed, so you will have to sleep on the floor. The apartment is right next to the Stadtgarten and is about 10-12 minutes from Aachen's city center. The student quarter (read cheap) is about the same distance. It's about a 10 minute bus ride from Aachen Hauptbahnhof. I'll have to ask, but I'm gonna say that you can't cook here. Aachen is by the border to both the Netherlands and Belgium.
nice sleeping couch of 140 cm in our living room... you're welcome! the appartment is not a luxury appartment but well...pretty nice. we're students. living in the inner city. busstations are all close, train station about 10 minutes away. You can surely use our kitchen - better if you bring some food, except of basics like salt, etc... and please do the dishes ;-) (we've got a dishwasher) Sheers, nice trip...!
e.g. Small room with a comfortable single bed in my medium sized 3 bedroom townhouse in the suburb of Richmond. We are very close to everything - shops, pubs, restaurants and public transport (it's a 7 minute tram or train ride into the city-centre). Feel free to use the kitchen while you are here, but you will have to buy your own food. Our place would be a great base to explore both Melbourne and Victoria.
Small room in the center of Aachen - Ponttor. I have spare beds for 2 or 3 persons. There is shared kitchen (food you need to bring) & bathroom. Very close to everything. Bus stations are just outside the house to any place in Aachen and 5mins to Westbahnhof. If you wanna party, the whole street is next to my place. Netherlands and Belgium are close by too.
I am living in the student dormitory at the moment, there is no that much space, but in any way you may find everything you need in my place: a bed, a shower, a kitchen and tasty breakfast in the morning! The dormitory has a convenient location,5 minutes walking till the bus stop and in 10 minutes you are in the centre of amazing Aachen!
I'm living with two flatsharers in the city centre of Aachen. If the other are at home you'd have to sleep on a couch in the kitchen/living room or you can bring something to sleep on with you. If not you can probably have one of the beds. From Aachen you can easily travel to Cologne, Düsseldorf, Maastricht or Liège as well.
I share a house with my boyfriend and two friends. In our living room we can provide a sofa bed which can be turned into a bed of 140x190 cm. Our house is surrounded by garden and has terrace and balcony for sitting or having barbecues. A bus station is next to the house and a grocery store reached within 5 minutes by feet.
Spare Room with a two person air mattress, 15 min. to Aachen Center by train (station access 3 mins walk). Good starting point for visits of the German National Park Northern Eifel. If you like it would give us great pleasure to show you around. Note: We are "on the road" ourselves effective from beginning of May!
