Medium room with futon/double bed in a medium sized 2 story town house. We are close to everything in Ashland and there is bus servcie (free) and a bus stop nearby. Ashland is home to the Shakespeare theatre, and is the most highly developed Shakespearean community in the country (or so I'm told). Plays run almost year 'round and there are two other community theater groups that perform. The area is home to a very active spiritual community and Tashi Choling Tibetan Buddhist monastary a short distance away while Yoga and Zen Meditation groups meet regularly in town. The city is home to Southern Oregon University and there is much good music in the area. There are also several wineries and cheese factories in the area with some exceptional tasting rooms. Mt Ashland is a down hill ski resort and there are cross country trails from there into Ashland. You're welcome to use the kitchen as long as you buy a little food or cook and clean up. There's an extra bathroom with a shower and bathtub. The place is new and everything is sparkling clean and nice. You do have to clean up after yourself or maybe pay to have a maid come when your stay is finished (inexpensive). This would be a good base to explore the Ashland area. Ashland is consistently voted as one of the best towns in the US to live.
I have 2 houses and depending on which one is not rented out at the moment I can provide an extra room and tent/rv/camper space since one property is on 1 acre and the one that is rented now (in Cave Junction, Oregon), is on 7 acres. The house that is available now is in Ashland Oregon just off Interstate 5 in So. Oregon by the california border. There are hot springs and restaurants and some night spots to go out to. It is a small college town and is pretty progressive. The house in Cave Junction is an old former stage coach and has 5 bedrooms. It is rented out now but when I live there there are a couple of rooms available. It is an hour and a half to the ocean (crescent city, ca/brookings, oregon) and there are some great rivers with swimming holes and many other outdoor activities available. Cave Junction is located in the Illinois Valley in So. Oregon and is surrounded by national forests and not far from the famous Redwoods National Parks.
Small bedroom, 2nd floor, w/ queen bed, down hall from full bath. (Usually, no one else is upstairs, or uses bath; homeowners' bedroom on first floor. We are on a hill above Ashland. Asland, Oregon is a small town consisting of approximately 20,000 people. We are located 5 hours drive north of San Francisco, 4 hour drive south of Portland, 2 hour drive from the famous Redwoods (California/Oregon Coast) and 5 hour drive to Lake Tahoe. Famous for our Shakespeare Festival, we are located 10 minutes from Mount Ashland (skiing); 20 minutes from Rogue River - great for Salmon Fishing and White Water Rafting; 2 hours from Crater Lake National Park, and 10 minutes from historic Jacksonville. Good link:
We have a spare bedroom with a double bed and separate bath. You are welcome to kitchen and laundry facilities. We do have pets...2 dogs, 3 cats...your bed and bath can be closed off to separate you from them but they will wander through the rest of the house! We could show you around a little but both of us work a lot and likely you would be on your own to see the sites. We are close to Ashland Mountain which has great intermediate and up skiing (runs are somewhat short however). Our city is also home to the Shakespeare Festival which runs all summer and we are not far from the Britt Festival in Jacksonville. We have hiking all over as well as great fishing for salmon.
I just live in a one bedroom apartment, but would be more than happy to offer a couch or floor to someone who wants to experience Ashland. It's home of the Shakespeare Festival, and this area has vineyards/wine tasting, great little eateries, incredible hiking and mountain biking, has the Rogue River in it's backyard for some soaking or rafting, is at the base of Mt. Ashland for some slopes; basically it has it all! My place is small, but provides a roof, kitchen and bathroom:)
We live on Immigrant Lake outside of Ashland, Oregon which is a 15-20 drive away. Ashland is known for its Shakespeare, boutique shops and dozens of restuarants. We are in the country so its quiet.....just crickets-n-frogs. Have a full size bed to spare. My husband and I love to cook, garden, meet good people, play games, hike, and enjoy the outdoors. Help pitch in for groceries and we'll cook some grand meals together. Your welcome 1-2 nights if needed.
Private room available. This is Shakespeare country. Plays are given most of the year. Just a laid back friendly place to live or visit. If you have been to Switzerland then the landscape is similar. No rush, no hurry way of life. Everyone is your friend. Public transportation is available but not sure if buses run on weekends.
We can offer a small room with queen size bed, your own bathroom, very private. We are 2 gay men, with pets, living in downtown Ashland, Oregon, home of the amazing Oregon Shakespeare Festival of which we are employees. If you love the Theatre this is the trip for you. We are 5 blocks from the theatre, all cafes and bars.
I will let anyone who wants to travel with me travel with me. I am an experienced traveller. I have been since I was fourteen. I will give you space in my group, but you should try to have your own gear (although it is not required).
I live in a cabin 15 miles from Ashland. It is very rough in the winter but nice in the summer. I have a wood pizza oven and you are welcome to use kitchen. You must have a car or be willing to go to town and back when I do.
