Nice house, quiet neighborhood. Coffee house and grocery store 5 minutes drive, 10 minute cycle and 20-25 minute walk. Access to pedestrian pathway and cycling distance to entire town and "downtown" area (spread out Okie style.) Yard for hammock and tent if desire and long driveway with ample room for small trailer or camper. Bartlesville, Oklahoma is in the northeast corner of the state, a few minutes from Kansas, about an hour from Missouri and hosts the Price Tower (you can sleep there) building designed by Frank Lloyd Write and nearby Wool-o-roc (live buffalo and many other animals) Museum and the Nature Conservancy owned Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. Bartlesville is not a typical town and provides an interesting psychological backdrop if one is interested in studying a stratified organized one company dominated town. Key word = Hierarchy. Things are changing rapidly (slow by California standards) since Phillips 66 merged with Conoco to form ConocoPhillips and abandoned the town of 34,000 for placement of their new "head"quarters in Houston, Texas. Barlesville is to the engineer (PhD preferred,) chemist, and other control artists (The Performance Town, The Performance Company, Image versus Product. what Marin County, CA or Bleeker Street in NY would be to traditional artist. The "Truman Show" does come to mind. What does your daddy do (mommies are not supposed to work,) what church do you attend, and . . . Kitchen is ample for small or large preparations. Barbeque outside. Fire pit.
Couch in the living room or bed in another room. Family of 5 (3kids)suburb 50 miles north of Tulsa, OK, city of about 40k. We are very friendly and welcome just about anyone and if you help with food expense and don't smoke in the house or bring pets, you are very welcome.
Choice of 3 couches in two different living rooms, house has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, washer/dryer access - there are currently 4 guys living in the house, couple blocks from downtown area with Frank Lloyd Wrights only skyscraper only 2 blocks away!
I have a coach in a spare in air conditioned detached garage with room to accommodate other with own sleeping bags. The space also contains a small fridge.
Small room in medium-sized 2-bedroom house. Walk to city centre & Frank Lloyd Wright - designed Price Tower. 45 minutes by car to downtown Tulsa.
