My wife and I live in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath mobile home in a very nice mobile home community on the south side of Bloomington, Indiana. I'm currently using the 2nd bedroom as a home office/workshop, so all that I can offer is a comfortable couch in the living room. I am a smoker (my wife is not), and we do have a dog inside (a four year old black lab/chow mix), but he is friendly once he knows that you are friendly. My wife and I do not drink or "party" much and tend to lead quiet lives. I work evenings and my wife is retired, so, I would be available sometimes in the daytime or on the weekends to show you around and my wife could be available while I am at work. When we fix a meal, we will invite you to eat with us, but if you requite any additional food, you will need to provide it yourself. We are in close proximity to many fine restaurants and shopping areas. This is a busy college town with lots to do if you want things to do. We do not allow the use of any illegal drugs in our home. You will not be allowed to invite anyone to our home. You will only be allowed to be in our home if either myself or my wife or home. (But never fear, my wife is always home!)
Come hang out in the living room--your choice of three lovely couches: one that has cushions that fold out into a comfortable couch-bed, a fantastic afternoon napping couch or the sofa. A double-layer queen-size blow-up mattress is also available. Traveling bands inquire within! Let me listen to your music and if I like you, my roommates and I will show you around Bloomington. You can walk or bike to most of the cool places in town. Feel free to use the kitchen while you are here but please bring/buy/dumpster your own food. That's how we do!
Spare room with fairly comfortable futon. Air mattress also available. I live within walking distance of an airport shuttle stop (from Indianapolis) and downtown shops and restaurants. Indiana University is less than 2 miles away (walkable for some, in some types of weather). Kitchen available, but you'll need to bring/buy most of own provisions (sugar, flour, an egg --these, however, are yours for the asking). If I'm around and cooking, I'll certainly ask you to join me. Maybe we can share a meal or two or three.
I have a couch and sometimes a free queen size air mattress available for guests. I am in school most of the year, but someone is always around my apartment to show visitors around. There is not much here aside from the University, but we are a few blocks from town and everything is within walking distance. We are about 4.5 hours from Chicago, 1 hour from Indianapolis, and are near all the parks in the area. You are free to use the kitchen and even borrow a bike if you like.
I live in an apartment by myself. Bloomnington is a town about an hour south of Indianapolis. It is a fun town for younger people because it is home to Indiana University. I can offer room for one or two people to sleep on a fold out futon in my living room for 2 or 3 nights max. I'm a non smoker, and would expect that to be respected. Another option is I have 2 bedrooms, one is currently used as a study, and if more privacy is desired, the futon can be moved into the office.
Spacious one bedroom apartment five blocks from downtown area (shopping, food, bars, live music, etc) and close to campus of Indiana University. There's a cheap public bus system, but my place is close enough to everything, so there's no need for anything other than your feet! Full bath and kitchen - can use anything as long as you don't break it! 45 minutes away from Indianapolis. 4 hours to Chicago. 2 hours to Louisville. 4 to Colombus, Ohio. 2 to Cincinnati, Ohio.
Apartment with two of my friends. Walking can get you anywhere (except the forest). Feel free to use the kitchen, but you'll have to buy your own food, and depending on the duration of your stay, maybe a fraction of the utilities. This area is very beautiful during the fall (with the leaves changing color). There are free concerts at the Music School daily. Bloomington is located an hour and a half south of Indianapolis.
Private room with bunk beds and a private bathroom in a medium sized rural house just north of Bloomington. 8 miles from IU campus and the College Mall and you need to provide your own transportation. You are welcome to use the kitchen if you are neat but you are on your own for food and cooking. Please no smokers. Small pets okay.
I have a 1 bedroom apartment, and I can offer an air mattress for my livingroom. 2 people can fit on the mattress. I have a small kitchen area, a full bathroom, and a small air-conditioning unit. I live in front of the city bus which can take you right to downtown, or you can transfer anywhere in the city.
Couch in a cozy apartment with access to full bath and kitchen, food is your responsibility. Washer/dryer inhouse as well. Wifi hotspots available for use. Right on city bus line, half a mile from downtown bars. I do have a small dog that stays home during the days while I am at work.
