I have a two-bedroom upstairs apartment on Main Street in my small town in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. If I have guests (a single person or a couple), they can sleep in my bedroom in my double bed while I sleep on a mattress in my study. I am a strict vegetarian and don't like to have animal products in my apartment, but I am also a good cook and would be happy to cook vegetarian meals for my guests. You would pretty much need a rental car to get to Bridgewater unless you took the train. The train station is about a half-hour away, and I would pick you up, but then you would be pretty much dependent on me to get around, not that I would mind. I don't smoke, and prefer that my guests don't smoke.
A spacious, sunny, 2nd-floor walkup apartment on Main Street in a small town in the Shenandoah Valley. I would give my bedroom to 1 or 2 people and use the spare room, which is also my study. I would be happy to share all my vegan meals with one person (or some of them with two people, but would prefer you didn't bring meat into the apartment. Otherwise, it's fine if you want to use the kitchen. It is beautiful here--mountains and rolling farmland--and the people are low-key and friendly. We have universities, farmers'markets, artisans co-ops, golf courses and national and regional parks. You would probably need a rental car, as there is not much local transportation.
Decent size room with an extra mattress. It is in Bridgewater, Virginia. 10 minutes away from historic Harrisonburg city. 25 minutes away from shenandoah National Park with the beautiful nature.
I have a two-bedroom, secon-floor (walkup) apartment on Main Street in Bridgewater, which is a small (4,000 people) town in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We have beautiful parks and scenery here, and friendly people. The closest cities are Harrisonburg to the north and Staunton to the south. I work odd hours but would sleep in the spare room on my spare mattress if I have guests. (There is one bathroom, between the two bedrooms off the hall.) There is no public transportation to speak of in Bridgewater, so you really would need a car.
