We have a spare bedroom as well as a mobile home which is available sometimes. The spare bedroom is in a very old stone cottage which has been renovated over time to become a very homely reasonable sized house with all modern conveniences and a large outdoor living area. We also operate a small gift come craft shop from the premises. If you don't mind eating late we can share meals. We are located 55 kilometres from the centre of Adelaide and don't really have public transport (there is a bus to Mt Barker and return on Fridays). We are in an old mining area and Callington itself has quite a few old and interesting historic buildings. We are 22kms away from each of Mt Barker, Strathalbyn and Murray Bridge and all offer interest by way of shopping, touristy things and Strathalbyn in particular has a lot of antique shops. Callington has a brilliant country pub where the meals are excellent and Fridays and Sundays will usually find a top quality band playing.
We have a spare bedroom with a queen size bed in a rambling stone cottage which has evolved considerably since it was built as a miner's cottage in 1839. You will share our bathroom, kitchen, lounge etc. We have a nice outdoor area with a BBQ where we do most of our cooking and you are welcome to join us if we are cooking when you are there. We are in a very small town which is 22 kms from the nearest big town, or 60 kms from Adelaide and there is no effective public transport so it is best if you have your own transport. However, we often go into the city so you are welcome to come with us. We are situated very near the Melbourne to Adelaide highway so offer a convenient stop off if you are travelling between those cities. We are well located to use as a base to explore the lower Murray, Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula.
We have a spare room with a queen size bed in a largish old stone house situated on the edge of Callington township. Callington is 60kms from Adelaide city and 22 kms from the nearest shopping (other than the local deli/post office/service station. There is a pub a short walk from our house. You are free to use our kitchen and outdoor cooking area and depending on personalities we might share shopping and cooking. Callington is an interesting old mining area with quite a bit nearby to explore but it is probably better if you have your own transport. There is an occasional bus but it is not very useful.
