We have a spare bedroom with a comfy queen size bed and bedding. There are 2 bathrooms in our house. One is ours...the other is for everybody else. Sometimes our college age sons are home. Musicians very welcome! Smoking on the porch only. You can walk downtown(20 minutes) or take free bus. Carrboro/Chapel Hill has lots of funky bars with live music, cool shops and restaurants, a beautiful old college campus. Rural delights like kayaking, farmers markets, fishing, hiking. We are also halfway between the mountains and the white sand beaches. About 3 hours drive to each. Good food is often happening. 2-3 nights would be OK.
Silence, quiet, peace: A complete farm setting with ducks, adjoining farm has horses and a dairy farm operates across the field. Town of Chapel Hill is only 12 minutes away with music clubs, restaurants and movies. UNC is just 15 mins by car. This is a two story tenant farmhouse from the 1940's on a half acre of property with views of meadows and woods beyond. House is on a gravel road and there are two houses nearby, with several more a short walk away. Broadband internet connection. I am conversant in Japanese, French, Italian, Armenian, and some Spanish.
I have a large 8 foot long couch, large enough to sleep an adult male. It is comfy and wide, and I've got sheets, pillows, and blankets, of course. My apartment is medium sized with two bedrooms, and I have a bus stop that runs free throughout the entire city of chapel hill, and to the university during the week and weekends. The weekend busses run downtown as late as 3am, so it's very economical and convenient for restauranting, clubbing or bar hopping, which as you might imagine is very popular in a college town!
Small room in medium sized 3 bedroom townhouse in Chapel Hill, NC - 10 minutes from UNC's campus and medical center. Bring your own bedding or we have a queen size air mattress available. There is a free park and ride 2 min from the house to campus and downtown/Franklin Street where there are shops, restaurants, and bars/nightclubs. Free public transportation to Durham and Raleigh on buslines. Feel free to use the kitchen while you are here, but you will have to buy your own food.
I currently live in a dorm room with two other college males. We can accommodate one person comfortably on a couch. The room and area is safe and one can stay for a max of 3 consecutive nights(dorm policy). There are free buses all around Chapel Hill and 2-dollar buses to Durham, Raleigh, and other popular locations in the area! I'll be as helpful as possible with directions, university info, town info, and anything else I know about!
I'm moving into a new apartment in July, so I can't host til then, but when I do there will be a good-sized couch in our living room. On the free bus line to Chapel Hill and Carrboro. We can't provide food - maybe we can share a meal here or there - but you're welcome to use the kitchen. Also we have two friendly cats who love to snuggle, so this might not be the place for allergic people :)
Comfortable couch on first floor of house. Located about 15 minutes away from the downtown Chapel Hill, the house is located a mile or so away from the road. There is a bathroom downstairs and a shower upstairs. The kitchen and laundry can be used, but you will have to buy your own food. There isn't really any public transportation, so if you have your own vehicle, that would be ideal.
As of April, 2005 we will have one extra bedroom in a townhouse in a cohousing community in Carrboro, NC. Carrboro is 1.5 miles to UNC-Chapel Hill campus and walking/biking distance to the food co-op, downtown, restaurants, etc. Public transportation is free and you'll probably be able to borrow a bicycle. We enjoy cooking (generally no meat... but fish is ok) and skills-sharing.
I'm a student at the University of North Carolina living with another student in a 2 bedroom apartment. We have a nice couch in the living room for anyone who for some reason decides to visit the small, crazy town of Chapel Hill. I'm studying abroad this spring at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, so I will not be able to offer accomodation in Chapel Hill until I get back.
Shared common room with a comfortable sofa. We are withing walking distance of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There is free bus transportation within the town of Chapel Hill and Carborro, and a stop right in front of our apartments. We're about 30 minutes from Raleigh-Durham airport. Duke University and downtown Durham are 15 minutes away by car.
