Des Moines is a nice, clean, affordable mid-size city. Large house has one spare room available with one large bed, on main floor next to bathroom with laundry facilities and use of kitchen. Two blocks from grocery store. Two and one half miles from Iowa state capitol and Des Moines's East Village. Close to fairgrounds and great launching point for RAGBRAI, Iowa State Fair, (seasonal) farmers market and Arts Festival, among other events. No garage but you can bring your bike inside the house. Metro bus stop at the end of the block for route #4. See the comprehensive metro bus line at www.dmmta.com Available every other weekend when kids are with wife's ex-husband. Contact to schedule.
Me and my girlfriend are staying at my parents lake house for about 6 months and there is an extra room for 2 freeloaders. We have a boat and there is plenty to do out on the lake depending the time of year and the day you come. The room is a queen size bed, ceiling fan/light, chair, alarm clock. Nice and cozy. Lots of deer wandering around etc. Bathroom and shower are down the hall. You can use the kitchen but do the dishes and buy your own food. I go to Des Moines everyday and can give a ride to someone wanting to catch a flight or bus. It is about a 45min drive from Des Moines. I can provide transportation that works with my schedule.
We live smack in the middle of downtown, so you can hop on the Skywalk (if the weather's cold) easily from our place -- walk to the Capitol Street area farmers market or for nightlife; to the downtown sculpture garden; or travel around using the greyhound bus stop around the corner as well as regular city bus stops everywhere. There's lots of cool things to check out if you just want to see the sights for a day. The couch is comfy and The place is a very comfortable apartment and there are a total of two roomates living here.
Attic room in family home with king bed. Can accomodate a family of three or four if kids sleep in sleepingbags. Share bath and kitchen with family. We offer kitchen space; you can buy your food or exchange meals with us. We are close to bus and Drake University. We can host someone for up to a week. If you need to stay more than a week, we would be interested in hosting someone for 1-4 weeks in exchange for some help fixing up a house we're working on.
1 room in basement of home. Couch on the room, and 50' Big screen TV and recliner for you to use. I live in the basement of the house, the room is a room in the basement, it's just like a small living room for you to use. Definitely can use all the accomodations of the whole house. I even have an extra car (VOLVO) if you needed a car to drive around. 10 minutes from Downtown, 3 hours to Kansas City or Omaha. 6 Hours from Chicago. R
I have a spare room with two twin size beds in a house in the central area of Des Moines. Close to downtown, easy access to the freeway, and centralized for access to any of the suburbs. There is only one bathroom in the house. I do have two dogs, one who has free roam of the house and the other is kennelled at night.
Two bedroom apartment with a couch always open. On the north side of Des Moines, but not even a ten minute drive from downtown. The kitchen is available, but you will have to buy your own food. I work at a university and do enjoy having some drinks here and there.
Small couch in an apartment. I live with three other guys. There isn't much public transportation and there isn't much to do in Des Moines... But I have a good time anyway! :) Kitchen is open and there are a lot of decent restaurants nearby. f
I have 1 spare bedroom that has a twin sized bed. I also have 2 oversized couches and plenty of floor space. We live on the southside of Des Moines in a house. My sister, our two dogs, and I.
Apartment near Drake University. The University is in the middle of Des Moines, so basically everything is 15 minutes away at most. Downtown is real close as well.
