Meet people prepared to show you the best of Durham, Durham!
We have a lovely guest bedroom with a queen bed (sheets & towels provided) and lots of closet space in our roomy 3 bedroom house with a 4th bedroom converted into an office with a computer you are welcome to use. Durham is a great city with lots to do. We are also only 2 hours either from the beach or mountains for great day trips. Also could possibly arrange a weekend trip to Washington D.C. as my husband's family lives there. You are welcome to eat meals with us (I'm a good cook!) or prepare your own in the kitchen. For stays longer than a week, we ask that you help chip in on groceries. We are experienced home exchangers, and have had people living with us in community for 8 years now. We currently have one other woman living with us who is fluent in Spanish.
I have a small spare room that has a large comfy chair in it that some people may find comfortable for sleeping in, or there is room on the floor for my queen sized air mattress. My home is a medium sized two bedroom townhouse in a quiet neighborhood. There is a bus stop for public transportation right outside my building. My neighborhood is located in close proximity to the Research Triangle Park. Durham is adjacent to the town of Chapel Hill and city of Raleigh as well. Feel free to use my kitchen, but do please buy your own food. I have a very kind and polite dog and cat which will love to befriend you, but please be aware of this if you have allergies.
We have a spare bedroom with single bed to spare with wireless Internet, television, and your private full bath (though it's across the hall from the room). We are located on the edge of the city and Durham is not easily "travelable" by public transportation, so visitors should expect to rent a car. We are about three hours from the beach and about 4 hours from the mountains. Our house is also home to three dogs, so dog haters (or people with allergies) need not inquire.
Average sized room with a comfortable double bed. House in Suburban Southwest Durham. Very close to Southpoint Mall, and a short ride downtown Durham and Chapel Hill. Public Transportation is abundant, and we will be happy to assist when we can. Free to use the house provided you respect it and treat it properly. No smoking, or drugs. Buy your own food at the market within a 2 minute drive, or eat at the numerous restaurants nearby.
I live in Durham, NC with my husband and two other friends. We have a few extra couches. The main one is in a central living space, but there are 80's-style accordion doors that can close off the living room for a bit of privacy. My house is within 1 mi of Duke University. There is public transport to get to both Raleigh & Chapel Hill. (It 'is' there, though far from adequate for an area growing as quickly as our area is.)
Super comfy futon in the living room of a small two bedroom apartment. We're pretty much in the center of Durham, a 30 minute / $40 cab ride from the raleigh/durham airport, and a car is a must-have to get around the city. This is a great stop-over on your way to New York or Atlanta. Feel free to use the kitchen while you're here, and we may even cook for you, but generally, we ask you provide your own food.
Spare bedroom with double bed, shared bathroom in my townhouse. Located quite close to Duke University and shopping centers. The University of North Carolina and North Carolina State University are nearby, but public transportation is limited. It is best to have your own transportation. Feel free to use the kitchen while you are here and you will have to buy your own food.I have two very friendly cats.
I live in a nice apartment with a large living room, kitchen, and one bedroom. I do, however, have a large couch and an extra mattress and blankets. I live two minutes away from Duke University, the only public transportation nearby is the bus but it is a short ride (5-10min) to Duke and downtown Durham. I also have two Labradors. They're very friendly, but they're not hypoallergenic.
Not available this summer - will be traveling! Comfy couch in a three-bedroom apartment for short-term visits. Within walking distance of Duke University and downtown Durham. Given space constraints, I can only accomodate one person at a time. Depending on my work schedule, I'd be glad to show you around and if I can't, I can always point you in the right direction!
We have a spare room with a queen bed. Near to our house-- Duke University East Campus, Wholefoods, Ninth Street area, and coffee shops. RDU airport is 20 minute drive away. Our home has a large garden in front with flowers, and a patio garden out back with privacy and beautiful plantings. We live in a historic and quiet neighborhood. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat.
