I have 4 roommates (we are all female) in a five-bedroom apartment. We have a futon available in the living room that can sleep one or two. Also, floor space is always available (if you're willing to sleep on it!). Just a 10-15 minute walk from the University and 5 minutes from downtown Evanston. Plenty of shopping and restaurants in town. Nightlife is a little lacking (aside from the usual grungy college bars, of which there are plenty), but there is access to downtown Chicago on the El. We don't have any animals and don't want you to bring any. College-age only please (18-25). Female freeloaders preferred (for safety reasons), but don't hesitate to ask--we can make exceptions. Drinking is ok. No drugs or smoking.
Small room with a comfortable single bed in our small sized 3 bedroom house in the Chicago near-in suburb of Evanston. Guest bedroom is on the first floor which has a full bath (with tub). Our bedroom is on the second floor which has its own bathroom (with shower). You're welcome to use either bathroom. Our house is artfully decorated and we enjoy gardening our large shaded yard. Evanston is a very old and charming community. We are very close to everything - shops, pubs, restaurants and public transport to Chicago city-centre. Feel free to use the kitchen while you are here, but you will have to buy your own food. Our place would be a great base to explore Chicago and environs.
Small room with a comfortable single bed in our modern town home just over the border from Chicago. We are an easy 20-minute non-rush hour drive into the heart of Chicago, and a 10-minute walk from the Lake Michigan beach. Evanston is also a thriving city and we're a 5-minute drive from boutique shops, restaurants and coffee shops. Not to mention Northwestern University and its great lectures and the Block Art Museum. We are a 1-minute walk from public transportation that's a straight shot into Chicago. Our town home is four stories with a beautiful roof top deck. Feel free to use the kitchen while you are here, but you will have to buy your own food.
Small room with a comfortable single bed in our medium sized 3 bedroom house. Guest room is on 1st floor which has its own full bath (tub). Hosts are on 2nd floor with its own full bath (shower). You're welcome to use either bathroom. House is charming and neighborhood is quite nice. 1.5 miles from lakefront. We're very close to everything - shops, pubs, restaurants and public transport. Fairly easy public transit to Chicago attractions. Feel free to use the kitchen while you're here, but you will have to buy your own food.
Well, depending on the day, I've got floor space, an extra bed, and/or a couch. Evanston is on the northern border of Chicago (Rogers Park is the nearest neighborhood) and on Lake Michigan. I'm near downtown, around a lot of young people (Northwestern University) and older people (professors, those adorable old people who love to come to college lectures/art galleries/art cinemas). Kitchen, shower, bathroom, etc all up for grabs. Ocasionally there will be some free food around but that's not all that common.
Large room with couch. I live in an apartment with three other people, so there are some times parties, and it can be kind of noisy, and the couch is in a place where other people sometimes are (living room). So any guests could also sleep on the floor of in my room, where it would at least be quiet. Tent space is also available, and a mattress might be, but it's not too likely. Guests can shower, use the internet, use towels and blankets, and there is usually food, or I would be willing to make some.
4 bed room apartment I share with 3 other students of Northwestern University. Evanston has a lot of charm with many many restaurants and coffee shops, but the real pull of the area is that Chicago is only a 45 minute public train ride away. You are welcome to our couch, and our kitchen, but you would have to buy your own food. We are located only 3 blocks west of Lake Michigan. It's very cold in Chicago during the winter - just a warning.
I live with my parents, so I'd have to check with them well in advance. I'd feel much safer with other females. There is public transportation to downtown Chicago from here, but it's about a 15 minute walk. Our house is in a very residential area, there are no restaurants or store within a short walking distance. I would not reccomend staying here without a car, unless you are okay doing a considerable amount of walking.
2 bed 1 bath condo with extra room currently being used as game room. This space is big enough for an inflatable mattress. Couches in living room can be used as well. 1 min walk to train (purple line "L") which goes all over the chicago and evanston.
Currently in transition, but could put someone up at my old place. Have some couches, potentially a bed, in a house. There is a full kitchen, can bring/buy food and cook, close to downtown and El, cool roommates, potentially a dog.
