Hey there, if you are looking to visit the UK why not stay in Glasgow! It's a great party town with easy access to lots of great places to see, castles, lochs, historic cities & fabulous countryside & coasts. Very easy to get around on public transport & plenty of internal flights or trains. A great base to start your UK or European holiday. I have a spare double bedroom with a double bed and space in the living room for a blow-up bed so I could accommodate from single people up to a small family. Stuff you need to know: Smokers and drinkers, in moderation, no problem. Only one bathroom but great shower. Please feel free to use kitchen & tea or coffee but please buy own food. Washing machine available, if needed. We are a top floor tenement building with no lift, so 6 flights of stairs to the flat :)
I have a single sofabed in the living room available and plans for an inflatable double, but I don't have one just yet, so probably best only for single travellers at the moment. You might be sharing the bed with a cat because that's also her favourite place to sleep :) Its a 3 bedroom flat with 2 women living here - the 3rd room is my work room and as I'm self employed working from home I can be quite flexible about meeting people and showing you around. The flat is located in the east end of Glasgow - a 5 minute train or bus journey or a 20 minute walk into the heart of the city. Theres a well-stocked newsagents 20 seconds from the door to get supplies if you want to eat in as well as numerous take-aways no more than 2 minutes walk away.
AVAILABLE FROM END OF JANUARY 2005 ********************************** 2.5Miles/3.5KMS from Glasgow city centre. Very close to train and bus routes and local amenities. Only 10 mins from the city centre and 25 mins from the start of the West Highland way(Loch Lomond, Oban, Fort William etc) 1904 sandstone tenement apartment, free use of kitchen etc. In addition all assistance will be afforded to travellers re jobs, sightseeing, nightlife etc. Colection from GLA airport and city centre train stations can also be arranged. Unfortunately as the apartment is not very large only one person/close couple can be accomodated at a time. Incolumis circumgredior, Brian.
Two spare rooms available each containing a double bed in a tenement flat in Glasgow's leafy west end. Only one bathroom in the flat though! 2min walk from train station followed by a 10min train ride so easy access to Glasgow's city centre. Lots of pubs, restaurants and shops in the west end too. Also, only a 20min drive from the start of the West Highland Way. Feel free to use the kitchen but you will have to provide your own food. This is a non-smoking flat. My husband and I are not party animals (preferring a night in with a good glass of wine) but we'd be happy to point you in the right direction of livelier haunts!
I have a one bedroom flat in the west end of Glasgow. If I am at the flat all I can offer is a camp bed or settee. I am a 10 min walk from city centre and have many shops, bars and restaraunts in street and surrounding area. It is a great place to explore Glasgow from, and you could easily travel all over Scotland from here. As for me, I live alone, recently gave up work and wish to do some traveling myself. I am easy going and don't really mind who stays at the flat, as long as they tidy up after themselves, help with shopping or buy their own food. And they should be easy to get along with of course.
We have a one bedroom flat, and the living room/lounge is fully open to you! You're welcome to the couch and whatever floor space you take up. In some situations we are able to temporarily acquire an air mattress as well. We live in the West End of Glasgow, walking distance to Glasgow University and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Kelvingrove Park. We're right on public transport lines - 10 minute bus or subway ride to city centre. You are welcome to use our kitchen, bathroom, washing machine, etc. Sorry, you'll have to buy your own food - we're just too poor! Drink as much of our tea & coffee as you want though.
I'm leaving for a world trip in August, but I'll consider hosting anyone for up to a week until then. Accomodation would be a single bed in a v.small spare room or/and a big couch. Garden flat in the west end of Glasgow. Close to all the bars in Byres Road area. 10 minutes walk to metro and few minutes metro ride into the city centre. Good base to check out Glasgow or as a base for a tour of the rest of Scotland. Use of the kitchen for cooking but usual rules apply: keep the place tidy , use own food etc. Usual respect of the property and space applies too. Smoking in the garden only I'm afraid!
Have a one bedroom tenement flat in Shawlands/ Southside of Glasgow, about 5 min walk from Queens Park and nice pubs + local shops. Very good bus connections to the city centre - it's about 15 min (outside rush hour). Its also walking distance to the Burrell Collection and Pollok Park. Accomodation would be in the lounge, which I don't really need to use. There is a couch (which only sleeps 1 person max) but I think the floor + my thermarest are much more comfy. You are very welcome to use the kitchen if you buy your own food and leave it cleanish.
Small room with bunkbeds. Very basic but a place to lay your head. Full use of kitchen, bathroom etc is freely available. Guests will have to buy their own food and clean up after themselves. We live in a small town with a few pubs and shops. We have a train station with a regular service to the city of Glasgow which takes about 50 mins and if you want to explore further you can get a connecting train there to edinburgh which takes about another hour. I am more than happy to offer advice on sights to see and show you around.
we have a spare room which has bunk beds in it (as my two nephews use them) in our town house in the southside of glasgow. we are within walking distance of shawlands area which has all the amenities of the city from shops to clubs. We are also situated on a bus stop directly into the city which is around 10 minutes journey on the bus. can use our lounge and kitchen though we would ask that you provide your own food. if we have the time when you are around, we will show you some sights and have a beer or two.
