Room with twin beds and a private bathroom with a shower. It should be completed 11/09. Right now it's a room with a bathroom and shower but no beds or carpeting in it. There is radiant floor heat in the room, and there is a refrigerator, microwave, hot plate and toaster oven & TV with Satellite dish. Our family has 3 large dogs and a cat. We are 32 miles outside the town of Haines on the Klehini River. This is a nice place to stop for the night if you are coming off the ferry on the way up the Haines Highway to the Yukon Territory or the mainland of Alaska. There is no public transportation here-your own wheels is a must. We are a couple in our late 50's with no resident children. We live on the upstairs floor of the house. This house would not be a good place for young children. If you have pet allergies this house may irritate them.(it isn't child-proofed in any way.) There is a restaurant about 1/2 mile up the road from here that sells burgers, gas and on- premises beer & wine, but no off-sales. We will be happy to feed you if we have several days notice that you are coming.
My "home" is currently a '81 Volkswagen Diesel Rabbit Truck. If you are a small (5' 1.5") human being, you might be able to fit on my floor. Not really good for hosting, right now. I do have a tarp set up on the side of the tent and usually have a spare tent. I'm on the move - but if you and I and Tobbit are ever in the same place, you're welcome to share a space with us. I probably won't have a toilet, sink, kitchen, or extra blankets.
