Meet people prepared to show you the best of Hamilton!
I live in a medium-sized outhouse with two rooms/toilet connected to a larger house with 3 people + children + community of interesting musician/artist types within the street. Our garden is large + I can provide a tent. Other options are: house up the road / occassional nights floor space within the 'shack'. Hamilton centre is 10 minutes walk, river is 5mins away. University 45 mins walk. Auckland 1.5 hours by bus. You'll have to supply your own food and share my outside gas cooker, but hey, the garden life is beautiful. Max capacity = 3 or 4 persons You'll no doubt get to meet some interesting artists/musicians and actor types + possibly the 'Laird of Hamilton' (37 kms away)
Spare bed and floor space in large family home in a small town called Huntly. Short stays only (1-3 nights). 30 minutes from Hamilton and 1 hour from Auckland City by car. Some public transport available, but as in most of New Zealand public transport can be near to non-existent so would suit travellers who plan to hire/buy a car. Also our home is in some-what of a rural area, so shops are around 5-10 minute drive away. We can provide basics in terms of food and you can use the kitchen if you tidy up after yourself, or you can eat with the family. The house is on the edge of a lake which can be nice in Summer.
Spare room with couch bed in cosy 2 BR house, located beside a glorious gully. (The views from my deck are spectacular!) The bathroom is shared. You are welcome to use my kitchen, washing machine and dryer. My house is close to the centre of Hamilton and there is a bus-stop just by the front drive. There is not a huge amount to 'do' in Hamilton - although the Hamilton Gardens are becoming world famous (and not just world famous in New Zealand - ha ha, little NZ joke there). However it is a great jumping-off point to explore large parts of the North Island of NZ.
September 2011 I am sorry but I am leaving to go to live in United Kingdom for awhile. I wish everyone happy travels so I am cannot offer a bed at this point in time.I live in a small 2 bedroom town house close to the city centre (7 minute walk).Close to shops and pubs with good local restaurants. I can offer a bed some times or a mattress depending on the time of the year as I have overseas students stay.Feel free to use kitchen and washing machine along as you clean up after yourself.Smoking allowed only outside and definitely a drug free home.
Large basement bedroom with a double bed, toilet and handbasin. Also a fold-out couch. We live in a nice suburb of Hamilton, we are a 2 minute walk from a shopping centre and bus stop. It's a 15-minute bus-ride into the centre of Hamilton. You are free to use our kitchen and bathroom while you are here, and to use some food. However, if you use our food, please buy some to contribute (we live very close to a supermarket). Our place would be a good base to explore Hamilton, Raglan Beach and the Waikato region, particularly if you have a car.
Hi .. I have a double bed for short stays. Inside room ,is small but cosy. No need for beding as all is provided. Wicked shower water pressure and a bath to soak your tired feet after a hard days touring. 1 minute walk to the bus stop that will take you to city centre in 15 mins. Hamilton Zoo 10 minute walk up the road. Modern 3 bedroom home. Feel free to use the kitchen but would ask that you help with the food for meals. This would be an ideal spot to start your exploration of Hamilton and surrounding areas.
Own room with Double bed, also spare single upstairs, own shower and toilet facilities. We are near the river, plenty of walkways to wander,15 mins to town by bus.5 min walk to pizza hut, pub, dairy. Hamilton is a rural city of 120,000,centre of the Waikato Dairy farming scene and horse studs.we are close to the Waitomo caves 3/4 hour, and the city has a world renown garden display from all over the world. 1 1/2 hours drive from Rotorua and the thermal hot pools. 2x couches and various mattress available for visitors in a nice home in Hamilton. Public transport to main city centre very close. Kitchen available for use, buy your own food but sharing cooking etc is always an option. I have cats and a dog so if you are allergic this may not be such a great place. Otherwise I am sure you will love staying with us
Small room in large house - plenty of room for a campervan or tent as well. We live in the country between Cambridge and Hamilton (both about 5 - 10min drive away) - so own transport would be necessary. Great base to explore the Waikato from. Feel free to use the kitchen, BBQ etc. Have pool and 7 acres with horses, dogs, chickens etc.
