Meet people prepared to show you the best of Kyoto!
Loft style 3 bedroom apartment with an extra tatami mat room that is very comfortable. We live on the third floor of a building that also houses a kimono manufacturer and shop. Our place is located in south western Kyoto about 15 minutes from Nishikyogoku train station off the Hankyu line. From Kyoto station take the Karasuma line to Shijo. Get off at Shijo and transfer to the Hankyu going toward Osaka (Umeda). Take the LOCAL train (the destination station title will be in either black or green--do not get on a red or yellow rapid or express train)to Nishikyogoku. Exit the station (there is only one way out) and make an immediate left. At the first main street (about 2 minutes away) make a right and walk on the right sidewalk going against traffic. That street is Kadonooji. Walk straight for about 15 minutes to Hachijo Street. At Hachijo (you will see an Esso gas station across the street to your left and a Pachinko parlor right in front of you with red neon lights) make a right and then make your first left and walk straight (there will be a little parking lot on your left as you walk down the street). About three minutes later you will come to an intersection and you will see an electronics store called Yamada to your left. Just past that intersection (which is not busy) we are on the right side of the street on the third floor (3F) of a fairly nondescript grey building (with black stairs) located right across the street from an outdoor parking lot. There will be bicycles under a car port. You will see two vending machines just to the left of our building. We are at 11-1 Uchigawara-cho but there is no visible street address. Come on up!
Guest House Origami is looking for exchange staff (free accommodation in exchange for work). Female staff will be sleeping in a room (sharing with another Japanese girl staff). Male staff will be sleeping in one of the dormitory beds. You are free to use the guesthouse facilities such as kitchen, computer, free Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine anytime you want. We have cutleries and dishes so you don’t need to worry about buying daily necessities. The guesthouse is located at the central area of Kyoto. It's a small guesthouse run by few staffs with homely atmosphere. Travelers come from all around the world. We host dinner parties (serving Japanese foods such as Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki, etc) and some times go out with the guests to sightseeing. There are many Japanese guests and staffs speak Japanese, so you can study Japanese language as well as having fun! What you will be asked to do: - interact with guests - check-in service - take reservations (by computer) - morning cleaning Don’t worry, all of them are pretty easy and nothing too hard ^^ There are four staffs right now, age range 20-30 years old, all of who like traveling and foreign interaction. Qualification needed: - workable visa in Japan (ex. Working holiday visa) - able to speak basic Japanese (doesn’t need to be perfect if you have motivation) - favourable if you can speak Chinese - able to follow rules and have respect to people you live/work with If you are interested, please contact by e-mail. Please contact by e-mail.
