The place is in Fitzroy is an inner-city suburb 3 km north-east of Melbourne. I have a lounge you can sleep on Or spare space that you could easier stretch out on and make like a bed Or could share my double size bed. I live in a Bottom Terrace Unit with Street Level Access. A terrace unit with an open planned living/dinning/kitchen area & with a separate bedroom area with a double bed & a large en-suite style bathroom off it. A small front garden & balcony area that is fenced in. Also, a communal back garden with an electric bar-b-q & bench seating. The nearest train station is Parliament. Also, the nearest Tram stops are at Melbourne Museum & St Vincent's Plaza which would get you out & about. to a wide range of areas in Melbourne. About 25 km SE of the Airport. It would take you about 35 mins to get here by car. The Airport shuttle bus goes to Southern Cross Station (previous known as Spencer Street Station). You could then easily jump on a Tram 86 to Bundoora or 96 to East Brunswick & get off at Melbourne Museum. Nearby attractions: Melbourne Museum; Garden View Cafe & Milk Jamm; The Laird, Sircuit & The Peel. Lots of other cafes & restaurants around within the street line strip shops. Also, grocery shopping places like Coles & Woolworths close by (about 10 mins away). So there are shops in around the area with grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, take-away shops, bakeries, post office & the local parks. I have my own bicycle for you to borrow. Otherwise, it s not too hard to get around on public transport. You are free to use the kitchen and food, but it would be appreciated if you could contribute some food if you can afford it. I will most likely cook for you as well.
Hi, I'm relocating overseas (France) and have been staying in Melbourne CBD, but I need a few more weeks here. I'm just looking for somewhere for a few weeks. I only have a suitcase as everything else is in storage and even that cane be stored. I am happy to house sit and help feed pets, buy my own food and even chip in for bills just for someone nice for the next few weeks while I confirm all my travel arrangements. I am happy, positive, fun and easy going. I'm not a party animal but have a respect for the way other people live and would love to stay with like minded people or person. I speak a little French (which improves everyday), but otherwise English is my first language. Other than that, I would be just very grateful for the spare bed and in exchange you'll get some great conversation and an easy going guest and somewhere to stay if you're ever in France. I'm also clean so you don't have to worry about cleaning up after me and I don't smoke, but if you do , that's fine with me. I love all kinds and genres of music, fashion, art, poetry, books & anything artistic & creative. Born in Belgium, raised in different parts of the world (including Africa). Now moving to France and just need 2 weeks in someones spare room. I would love it if your are close to Mel CBD and if I can use your kitchen to make my meals. Other than that I'm excited about the idea of meeting some new people especially if you've travelled to France or Europe and can clue me in. Not homophobic or racist & no need to babysit me as I'm not new to Melbourne. I do love some wining & dining, movies & exploring new places though and would love to see more before I leave. Oh and I love animals too.
Hi My name is Oli From London U.K. I'm 26 years old and like to rock climb cook travel and and keen to share cultures and travel around as much of this beautiful earth as possible and help a few people along the way. I recently got involved with the lentils as anything charity in Melbourne and have been spending several nights a week helping them run the restaurant. It's an incredible place but due to work I cant really spend as much time helping them as they clearly need so I can work less and volunteer more. I'm therefore looking for a free space to live. It could be a sofa it could be a couch it could be a space to put a tent. At this point I don't mind I'm just looking to donate my time towards those who actually need it and to help build and support a great organisation. Any accommodation is hugely appreciated and I am working with some pretty interesting cuisines from around the world at the moment so could cook up a feast in return for accommodation or take you rock climbing or just generally share cultures and interests I'm also well house trained so will keep anywhere I stay clean and tidy. I was also a gardener so if you have a garden that needs gardening and like good food I'm your man! I also coached kids to climb so am used to working with kids so am used to working with large groups of kids and really enjoy it so if you need help with a family I would be happy to do so in return for accommodation Thanks for the help it's appreciate and it's great such an awesome network exists Oliver Kenny Oli
Fold out double sofa bed in our brand new 1 bedroom downtown apartment at the Paris end of the CBD close to the World's largest China Town. Separate room. Our apt is surrounded by Melbourne's finest restaurants and cafes (Longrain, Pelligrinis, Jamie Oliver's Fifteen) cultural (Steps of Parliament, Princess and Her Majesty's Theatre, Federation Square, Museum) recreational (Treasury Gardens, the Melbourne Cricket Ground home to the 2006 Commonwealth Games) and shopping precincts (Collins Street - Chanel, Gucci, Tiffany's, Little Collins Street - Roy, Nudie, AG, Melbourne Central - Morrisey, Veronica Maine Country Road). You'll find the best of Melbourne Australia on your doorstep. If you want to escape the city to the suburbs it's a 1 minute walk to a tram stop serviced by the 96 and 112 trams or Parliament subway station. A ride on the 96 tram for 15 minutes will take you to beautiful St Kilda beach home to Luna Park, Ackland Street cake shops, a Sunday market, live music venues and the Prince of Wales Aurora spa retreat. 2 stops away on any of the major subway lines is Chapel Street home to fashionable boutiques, nightclubs, and secondhand shops. Fully furnished and appointed stylish, security apartment (no pets) with complete and newly renovated kitchen (european appliances). Feel free to use the kitchen, food not provided. But why would you want to eat in with everything on your doorstep? Gay and lesbian friendly.
Floor space, and occasionally a bedroom if someone is away. Bring a sleeping bag unless its the middle of summer. The house is cold in the winter. The couch is too small to sleep on, but the cushions are sort of ok if you take them off! Lovely people, nice chickens in the back yard and great porch for sitting in the sun, when there is some. Best dog in the world, kelpie cross, though she likes to bark at every person who comes in, no matter what time of night, so perhaps dont come back too late, unless it is with me. i dont smoke but the other housemates do and sometimes inside. Kind of far from city, brunswick westish, 40 minutes by tram, 20 by train, quiet street though. Can use the kitchen if you clean up after and bring food. 2 vegetarian housemates but 2 others not, so meat is ok. There's a washing machine and a shower, please use! The house is old and falling apart and some of the housemates cleaner than others. i'm home a bit, work from here at the moment, but might show you the good op shop/thrift stores and cheap veg eats (though i mostly cook at home) and art stuff if i have time. I dont party much, but on occasion go to a gig or show.
Ihave a mattress for the lounge and a couch. We live in Sunshine, which is about 15 mins out of the city. I'm within walking distance to the shopping centre, train station and bus depot. I have 3 teenage children still at home, ages are 16,18,19 and My husband Graeme. we have a large family there are still 4 more children who visit regulary and 3 grand-daughters.My house is busy,we are easy going and love a laugh. All we ask is that you clean up after your self.No smoking in the house, but I do have a covered patio that you can smoke in.We can host 2 people for 1 week. We all talk English and some of the kids speak a little Italian. I can understand Dutch or some of it.We are pretty much a family of the spur of the moment, so we might decide to go out at the last minute etc. We are a popular family and entertain a lot of visitors. We do have some quite nights and treasure these when they come. I have a spa bath and a sauna as long as our things and property is treated with respect you are welcome to their use.
I live alone in a comfortable elegatly decorated, one room(!) studio appartment. It is quite small so i could only squeeze in a matress and we would be sleeping in the same room with a partitan. That aside, it is in an amazing location, on a beautiful tree lined street, in an exclusive suburb, so close to all the amazing hot spots of Melbourne. The Yarra river is a two minute walk at the end of the street and walking to the CBD takes just 15 mins from my place, along the pituresque Yarra river. Tram and bus stops are both five minute walk away. I live 10 mins walk away from the famous Chapel Street shopping strip. It is packed with clothes shops, designer boutiques, so many restaurants, cafes, bars and nightclubs. Many in Melbourne would say its the most popular place in the whole of Melbourne to hang out, shop and go out. I live also very close to St Kilda beach, the Botanical gardens, train stations, supermarkets, fresh produce market and much more. A very central, and stylish location.
A large and comfortable room with its own bed and other fun stuff. The house is a fairly big 3 bedroom home with a great kitchen for cooking your own meals and a spacios living area. It also has a really big grassy back yard for relaxing in the hamock, kicking the football or enjoying a real Aussie summer evenings BBQ. We live about 15mins train ride from the very center of Melbourne, 5 mins walk from some good restaurants and about 10 mins walk from the main shopping strip. My wife and i will be more than happy to drive you around and show you some of the sights of our fun city. Take you out to some great bars or cook you a BBQ in the back yard. We'll be happy hosting anyone for up to a week, as long as you respect our property and space eg if you smoke, you do it outside...and no drugs! We used freeloaders a lot when traveling europe and would love to repay the favor to anyone in need! Sime and Jess.
G'day, Unlce Bob's Hostel, located just outside the Melbourne CBD has a couch ready for use Located in the suburb of Malvern East at the end of number 3 tram line here u can have the peace of the leafy green part of Melbourne and more privacy than the usual hostel Things to past the time: broadband, x box, DVD's, facilities like kitchen, laundry, close to shops and public transport, as well as the local knowledge from me Types of people I look for are spiritual minded people including all types of religions, hippies, those who meditate or chant, natural therapist, healers, psychics, yoga, Tai Chi, or basically anyone who is open minded about these subjects and more Once thing about travelling is the people you come by, so with opening up my home to you or vice versa, I hope that we can share all about each other ideas and philosophies on all sorts of matters.
A spare bed is in the living room, but if its a short stay you can feel free to sleep in one of 3 bedrooms that belong to the 'kids' in the family. We live about 1.5hrs public transport/40mns car travel east of the melbourne CBD, so i would recommend you stay here if you are either reeeeally desperate, or looking to take a trip to the dandenong mountains/far east/southeast in your travels. Our house itself is close to a street of local shops and 5 minutes from a major shopping centre. 15 minutes bus ride to a train station. The shopping centre also has a bus station with around 10 different bus routes operating from the area. If it's on our way, we can always give you a lift via car, or if we have a day off, show you around a bit of melbourne. Kitchen and tv, etc is all free to use. You can cook your own food or eat ours, we usually have korean food or pasta/pizza etc.
