Meet people prepared to show you the best of Milwaukee, Milwaukee!
I have a small room with a double bed available in my small 2-bedroom house on the north side of Milwaukee. It's roomy enough for individuals or a couple. I am about a 20-minute drive from the Amtrack, Greyhound & MegaBus stations. My house is 2 blocks from the city busline and about a 40-minute city bus ride from these stations. While downtown Milwaukee and Lake Michigan are about 30 minutes away by car, I am 5 minutes away from a large mall with restaurants and movie theaters. I have two 45-pound dogs who greet everyone very affectionately (which means that while they understand the command "Off!" they seldom obey it). If you are comfortable around animals, you'll have no problems with them. I request that you smoke outside and expect that there will be no illegal drug use. You are welcome to use the kitchen and any staple ingredients (flour, sugar, seasonings, oil, butter) that you can find, but I ask that you supply any other food that you might need. The nearest grocery store is 10 minutes away on foot, although there is a small market only 2 blocks away. Naturally, I ask that you leave the kitchen as you found it. If you can find enough to occupy you in Milwaukee, I'm happy to host you for up to a week.
small room w/a futon couch that can fold out into a bed in my cozy upper flat 7 minutes drive to downtown milwaukee. there is a bus 1 block away that takes you downtown in 20 min. and another bus 2 blocks away that takes you to the university near the lake. the neighborhood that i live in is called riverwest. it's funky and cool, home to punks, queers, artists, activists and people of multiple colors, creeds and genders. it is, however going thru the pains of gentrification (boo hiss). the east side is more a walking place, w/the university, cafes, bookstores, etc. in riverwest, there are two cafes close by, fuel cafe (6 blocks away) and bremen cafe (7 blocks). the art bar is 2 blocks away. woodland pattern, a non-profit small press bookstore is 3 blocks away. milwaukee is great in the summer, but cold and miserable in the winter.
Farm house about 40 miles North of Milwaukee. Double bed and room for kids to sleep on a mattress next to parent. No public transportation within 7 miles. Farm house has only one bathroom, no shower, just a tub. Area of rolling hills, swamp, river and wetland. Suitable for cyclist to get to but not convenient to get to otherwise without a car. In late summer we have free vegetables you can enjoy and if you WANT to pitch in there's usually something you can do. 2 night maximum. We will feed you breakfast if you get up before 8. Prefer you do not occupy bathroom for more than 10 minutes. We are an older couple with a son who enjoys traveling, and wish to help the community of travelers. We have horses, dogs and cats. Not suitable for someone with allergies. Home is somewhat dusty and disorganized, full of books.
i live in a basement flat. in the living area i have a futon and also a couple inflateable mattresses,so we can accommadate 3-4 people inside. no smoking inside. i have tent space in the yard, but would probably got to clear that with my lanlord.dont have problem with guest staying for up to a week,so long as they are respectable. im walking distance to a million stores to accommadate most everything you might need. i live like ten minutes from milwaukee's eastside(the artsy hippie district of milwaukee.) everything is just a bus ride away. you're more than welcome to ues my microwave/fridge in the basement , but i share my kitchen with my lanlord, you will have to feed yourself, but chances are you'll get fed when i cook. other than that, its pretty laid back.
We have an open studio apartment in Milwaukee (Bay View) that you can share with us. We have a couch that you are welcome to sleep on, or we have an air mattress that you are welcome to use. We also have a finished garage/rec room that has a finished loft with a bed in it that you are welcome to use. We are within 2 blocks of Lake Michigan, one block from South Shore Park. Beautiful area, close to bars, but still a quiet street. Plenty of cool restaurants and grocery stores around. Only 7 minutes from downtown and the East side. Right on a busline that goes right into downtown. You are welcome to use our kitchen, or we can work it out that we eat together, if you would prefer. We have wireless internet and laundry facilities available.
Hi we have a 2 Futons (double size). Both very comfortable with extra foam topper for one & also have very nice aerobed. One is in finished basement & other on first floor. We are southside of milwaukee but within 5 miles or so of lots of stuff. We have laundry, kitchen, outside patio. We have a lot of festivals in the summer & near bus routes that will take you to them. NO SMOKING & unfortunatly we are also a fragrance free home (due to my allergies). We have no pets you are welcome to use all facilities just purchase own food or contribute to food costs.
futon/sofa in a small upper flat in the Riverwest neighborhood. Take a hot shower and relax. It's on the busline or a longish walk to the university. a 7 minute drive to DT. Within 6 blocks of cafe, 2 blocks of Art Bar, 4 blocks of Garden Park and summer/fall farmer's market, 7 short blocks to the river. Lots of stuff happening summers in Milwaukee, and this is the edgiest neighborhood to be in for that. If you're an artist, queer, punk, activist, liberal educated person, anarchist, co-op lover, vegetarian, community-minded person, this is the place to be.
I sometimes have a private bedroom available but there is always a couch, a lounge chair and a carpeted floor available. I have an air mattress that you can use or you may have a sleeping bag. I am in a south east suburb of Milwaukee right on Lake Michigan, one block away. I am close to parks, right on a busline and 10 minute drive to downtown. I live in a very clean, safe neighborhood and my place is fully carpeted with beautiful woodwork, an oudoor sitting porch and ceiling fans throughout. My house is your house so you may make yourselves at home.
