I am a single woman, with no children. I smoke cigarettes, but do not drink alcohol or do drugs. So there will be no drinking or drugs in my apartment. I live near the busiest downtown/metro area in the state, very convenient for taking the bus or rail. Approximately 30 minutes to the Mall of America. I am black/latina. I am a Christian but rather liberal politically. I am not racist or homophobic. I prefer to host one person at a time only, females only. I may cook for you but I have little money so if you pitch in for grocery costs I am more likely to do it. Or if you agree to do the housekeeping while you are here, I'll cook for you and buy the groceries. I am fine with vegetarian or vegan diets, although I eat meat myself. There are many, many gorgeous lakes not far from where I live, awesome walking/biking trails. I have local phone service but no long-distance. I also have the internet, just no porn because I don't want my computer to get viruses. I would be happy to show you around. I enjoy visiting museums and galleries, live theater and comedy, animals( At this time I have no pets, I may get a small dog later). I am a poet and a visual artist. I also do some local theater. I have plenty of free time but I do not drive. My couch is small, actually a loveseat, but very comfy. I sometimes nap on it. If you are tall you may want to bring a sleeping bag. I have a nice area rug that you can lay it on. I look forward to hearing from you. Cordially, Shannon
I have a futon which can be turned into a bed which is in my bedroom. I also have plenty of couches which are very comfortable. One of the couches in the basement pulls out into a bed. I have a full kitchen for your using pleasure, as well as free internet access and a TV, DVD player, etc. I live in South Minneapolis, a short bus ride, walk or bike ride to the nearby train line which goes directly to the airport, as well as to the Mall of American and downtown. There is also a bus stop a block from my home which will take you anywhere you need to go in the city. I live across the street from a small grocery store and have a cafe, wine bar and small neighborhood movie theater down the street. I am also only 4 blocks away from the Mississippi River and there are many nature trails and bike paths near my home. My sleepy neighborhood is safe and found in the center of the Twin Cities, an ideal location for fellow travelers to stay.
A nicely furnished room in our single family home. We have two cats, a dog, and a cockatel so it helps to be an animal lover. We live in a first ring suburb within ten minutes or so of both St. Paul and Minneapolis. As with many U.S. cities, public transportation is minimal, so renting a car is pretty useful. Sometimes I can give a ride to a specific destination and we (our family of three) can show you some of the sites. In winter there is less to see, but global warming is shortening that season :-) Non-smoking and pretty sedate, so no partying or acting like we did in our younger days! The kitchen is well-equipped and you are welcome to use it during daytime hours since everyone needs to get their sleep for school and work. However, there are a couple of night owls. Because of animals and furnishings, no younger children. Did I mention no smoking?
I live in small one room nice studio apartment directly across the street from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. I have no problem with people sleeping on my floor, in my bed (if I'm away), or on a comfortable couch that is in a community room across the hall from me. Location, Location, Location is the benefit to my place. The light rail train is 4 blocks away, two major bus lines stop right outside the building (2 & 7), and with easy walking distance to many great bars that feature live music almost daily. The reason I live is hear is because I don't have to use a car. There is a local co-op grocery story less than a block away and a two sandwich shops next door. Despite the abundance of local features the neighborhood is surprisingly peacefully and beautiful.
I live with my roommate in a 2 bedroom apartment a short distance from the major entertainment districts in Minneapolis, just off of the light rail line with a bus stop just a block off. We have an air mattress and couch to accommodate freeloaders. The light rail runs straight up to our place from the airport, and continues on to downtown. Blankets, towels, etc... available. Happy to take you around the city schedule allowing, we are both students at the University of Minnesota. No smoking in the apartment, and unfortunately we are unable to accommodate pets. I'm vegetarian, and my roommate is vegan, but willing to cook with you or let you use the kitchen, just ask that you help contribute to food or provide your own. Look forward to hosting you in Minneapolis.
Spare room with queen air mattress is located in my condominium/loft just across the Mississippi River from downtown Minneapolis. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars and public transportation at the corner. Walking/hiking and biking trails along the River and located in a quaint Historic district called St. Anthony - the birthplace of Minneapolis. Walking distance to downtown and light rail to airport. Your own private bath with shower. Feel free to use the kitchen, supermarket is located 3 blocks away. Great location to all that Minneapolis has to offer, theatre, museums, library, arts, culture, shopping. Security building. Rooftop deck overlooks the skyline and River. Loft is new and modern, with exercise room and courtyard fountain area.
I have a two bedroom apartment that I am the only tenant in at this time. So there is an empty room. The building is older but in a good area. I have a futon/air mattress. I am not in the city of Minneapolis but in a close suburb 5-7 miles (10km) from downtown. I am within 2-3 blocks of bus routes, bike routes, several bars/pubs and coffee shops and trails to the beautiful lakes of Minneapolis. I have a cat so if you are allergic you should know this in advance and he does get the run of the house usually. You can use the kitchen to prepare any food you bring/buy. I have a pretty active social life (music/bars/movies/outdoor activities) so I can give you ideas on where to go and what to do here if you feel like asking.
Room with extra long comfy pull-out bed, and storage space for clothing on a short visit, a big screen LCD tv with cable, and wifi if you have a Mac. We live in south Minneapolis in a solar-powered home, near the river and also very close to St. Paul. We're four blocks from the light rail train which goes downtown (in about 20 minutes) as well as to and from the airport and Mall of America. The neighborhood is walkable with lots of nature (the Mississippi river, Minnehaha Falls, Minnehaha creek), cafes, restaurants, and a well-preserved 1950s movie theater. You would have your own bathroom with shower (remodeled in 2001), and you're welcome to use the kitchen. Please buy your own food. We have one cat, so no pets please.
An amazingly comfortable couch in my living room with a big screen TV! If myself or one of my siblings is not home then a comfortable bedroom with a queen or king size bed will be provided. A twin home located in the western suburbs (Eden Prairie/Minnetonka) of Minneapolis, we are only 20 minutes from the Mall of America, the International Airport, the University of Minnesota, as well as downtown Minneapolis. The closest bus route is about 2 miles away. We have a light-rail train downtown too for you to get around. The kitchen is yours to use on your stay, and you are welcome to join in on our family dinners. Pet friendly! Smoke free! Bring a shovel if you come in the winter :)
I have two siamese cats, however the apartment has hardwood floors and I keep it clean. Small room shared with the two siamese cats with an air mattress in SW corner of Minneapolis. I live in a duplex on the second floor in a great neighborhood. The house is two blocks from Lake Harriet which is excellent for walking, running, skating (3miles a lap); 1 block from the Minnehaha creek/river. 1 mile from three main highways. Hwy 62, Hwy 100, and Interstate 35W. The house is one block from a main bus route (downtown is 20-30 by bus)Feel free to use the kitchen while you are here, but you will have to buy your own food and clean up after yourself.
