2,000 square foot house in exact center of New Mexico. Quiet town of roughly 1,000 in rural area approximately 70 miles southeast of Albuquerque. Small room with futon for sleeping or hiding. You have access to the rest of the house, as well. Access to the kitchen. You can eat the food I have on hand, to a point. The same goes for the beer stock. I don't know where you would be going to use this place as a base, but it should be a grand place for recovery and catching up on correspondence and what-have-you. The Manzano mountains are a few miles away and incorporate a little-visited Wilderness area. This is mostly high prairie area (6,500 feet elevation) with some cactus, native grasses, red rock outcroppings, relatively mild winters, some summer heat and always cool night-times.
One good size motorhome to use WAY out in the country side in New Mexico. The closest town in about 13 miles and it only has a few hundred people. If anyone is looking for a get away from it all experience in the high desert, this place is for you. You'd have the motorhome to yourself or it can sleep about three people or two adults and two kids. It can be hooked up to electricity and water also. My family and I live on the land and there are next door neighbors. You would be on your own for groceries, etc. and you would need a cell phone. I will be traveling a lot as well so there would be a small spare bedroom in my parent's house, but whether you could use it or not would be up to them.
We live out in the countryside and have five acres for tent space. There may be other accomodations available later, especially once we start traveling ourselves. We are a long way from much of anything so if you are looking for peace and quiet this is a good place to come. If we are away, we would consider house swapping or letting someone stay in the two bedroom house we live in. While you are here, feel free to come and visit. We do lots of cooking and baking and would love group meals and the like.
