You are welcome to use my room - it's a converted living room space with its own entrance and French doors to close it off from the other living area. Technically a one bedroom apartment, but has two separate entrances and feels like a small two bedroom. Just a block from the trendy Historic Mississippi District of Portland, OR. Incredibly close to public transit options (bus and tram), and easy freeway access to both I-5 and 405 within a couple minute's drive. Great coffee shops and restaurants nearby, park and playground within a few blocks. Great balance between residential safety and charm, with everything you could need nearby! Grocery store is a 10-15 minute walk, or you can rent a bicycle just a block away. This would be an excellent home base for exploring the city! Note: you would be sharing the apartment with one roommate, two cats, and a small terrier.
I am able to offer a couch or spare bed, depending on number of travelers we have in-house, to any woman who wishes to stay in a women-household of three for up to 3 nights at a time. You will have use of the kitchen and bathroom/shower, as well as We are mellow, friendly musicians and artists who enjoy live music, the drag community and art of all types. Check out Portland's scene online - search The Mercury Portland for the weekly paper... Close to downtown Portland, the Cascade Mountain Range and the Pacific Ocean, North Portland is a great place to see the Pacific Northwest. Two to three hours south of Olympia and Seattle, WA and two hours north of Eugene, Oregon....its rainy and cold in winter but dreamy in summer...beautiful! Happy travels!
My family and I have a small guest room with a comfortable bed and a separate guest bath in our smallish home. We live in a town with some restaurants and antique shops. We are linked by public transportation to the larger city of Portland where there is much to do. We are 24 miles to Portland, and hour and half from Mt. Hood and approximately one hour from the Oregon coast. Lots of outdoor trails, etc. You are free to use our kitchen while you are here, but must provide your own food. We have two friendly Golden Retrievers that are sometimes in the house. I work from home, so am usually around. Nice, friendly, homely. No smoking, no drugs, wine and beer in moderation is okay as we are in the wine country.
There are three of us living on the top floor of a two story building. I personally live in the basement room with a seperate enterance that has a spare bed. I guess you could call our house a "punk house"- it isn't the cleanest but it's tons of fun! 22nd ave in the northwest part of town- where we live-is a great spot for travelers. 21st and 23rd are filled with shops and restaraunts/bars, and we live very close to the streetcar and several buslines. We also live near Washington park/ the rosegarden, which are must see's when visiting Portland. We love eating/ sharing and will cook with you, but cannot provide all the food. We'll help though! Hope you can stop by and visit- fun times!
We have a spare room which is empty at the moment, without a bed or anything. We actually live in Milwaukie, Oregon a suburb of Portland, Oregon. The house is 1600 sq ft. with three bedrooms and two baths. We have a yard with trees and we are within 1 and half hours to the beach or Mt. Hood internationaly known for sking all year. We have numerous rivers for any kind of water sport. There is public transportation within walking distance. Portland has a max line which is like a train. Feel free to use the kitchen, but buy your own food and please clean up after yourself. There are only the two of us living here now, sometimes family visits briefly.
OK, it's not really a castle but it's in this magical basement not far away from downtown; SE of downtown. This basement has carpet like grass and is laced with gold(the walls are a metallic gold). You're welcome to crash on the floor on a couple of giant pilows that Ive found. I had a friend stay over from NY and he said he slept like a baby (and he's no squatter.) It's an unusual place but informally fun. I'ma cheap mofo and I believe in the golden rule so... And we have this beautiful gas stove made in america when we actually made the highest quality things; a thing of ancient times. We can't offer food, or at least, this is not gaurenteed.
We have a spare bed/sofa bed in our 3 bedroom house within the city of Portland, Oregon. We are close to busses that go everywhere and Portland is very bikeable (we have a couple of standard bikes). We live near the Alberta Arts district and walking distance to parks, natural foods grocery store, other shops and galleries. House is not fancy, but a good base if you are independent. We are busy family (couple with 2 teenagers, one mostly at college), and so you need to be on your own... Please buy your own food and use the kitchen... We share 1.5 bathrooms, so it is pretty informal here!!!!
We have a double futon in the living room available for right now...maybe in the future a seperate room in the basement...check in with us on that! Nice big house in North Portland located a few blocks away from local coffee shops/galleries/restaurants/bars...not far from the Alberta Arts district...bus stop few blocks down...easy access to everywhere from our house... Must like dogs (big dogs!),cats, and children... Very artistic and unusual household... Please no drug users...half the household is straight edge... children are welcome!
Im from Austin, Texas. Moved to Port Angeles, Washington with an ex-girlfriend. When things ended between us, instead of running home, I got the travel bug, and decided to take the scenic route back to Texas. I bought an old Bridgestone road bike and all the backpacking/camping gear I need, and started a journey down the west coast towards LA. I've been staying at hiker/biker camps along the way, although my budget is basically "broke" so it would be awesome to find hosts along the way, and im very willing to trade labor for board. Thanks!
A simple yet comfortable private room with full size bed in quiet neighborhood. Cook your own meals and make yourself at home. Internet access, 2 minute walk to the bus stop, 15 minute drive to downtown, 20 minutes from the airport. Large organic garden, two friendly dogs. Portland is consistently rated as one of America's mosy livable cities, and is the #1 bicycle-friendly city in the U.S. We also have more micro-breweries per capita than any city in the world.Come and kick up your feet and enjoy the Great Pacific Northwest.
