I have a rather large house that has a spare bedroom that at times is available. If its not I have two nice leather couches that are comfy to sleep on. Feel free to use the kitchen and use my food if you do the cooking and include me in the meal. I can also recommend some great restaurants from the fancy stuff to the homemade southern stuff. My house is located in a suburban neighborhood of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. It is close to a bus line but honestly public transportation in Raleigh (and in most of the US) is poor. I am close to restaurants, shopping and 10 minute car ride from the RDU International Airport. The closest beach is 1 hr 45 minutes car ride and the closest ski resort is 3.3 hrs away. There is a lot of interesting history around here and in NC, civil war trails, historic buildings, and more. Its a very mid atlantic central location. Distance from cities by car: Washington DC - 4 hours Baltimore - 5 hours Philadelphia - 7.5 hours New York - 9 hours Myrtle Beach SC - 3.5 hours Asheville NC - 5 hours Cherokee NC - 5 hours Savannah GA - 5 hours Atlanta GA - 6 hours Orlando, FL - 10 hours
Not really a spare bed, but a very comfortable recliner. So comfortable in fact that I find myself sleeping on it alot of the time which means you might get lucky and get access to my king size bed! Can host max 2 at the moment (and you'll have to share the bed). Availability is sketchy especially during the week due to the fact that I work 3rd shift. On the weekends I may can host, I'd like to meet for coffee or lunch first to see if we jive. Doesn't hurt to ask though! I'm about 15-20 minutes outside of Raleigh proper (closer to Garner, NC actually) however every convenience of modern society you could possibly need is within 5 minutes driving time. I'm kinda relearning Raleigh after a few years hiatus but I'm more than willing to show you what I know and maybe discover some new things myself. I live with 3 other people (some family) and we all smoke and have many pets.
Small apartment with 3 college students right outside of downtown. We are just a few minutes from downtown and just a mile from NCSU's campus. There are all kinds of things to do in the area from shopping, bar hopping, visiting museums, gardens, theaters, and there are some nearby parks for hiking, kayaking, and climbing. I have an extra mattress in my bedroom and we have sleeping room on the couch. While you are here, you are more than welcome to use the community pool, fitness center, etc. I am also free most afternoons/evenings if you want to go out exploring and need a ride. There is also a great bus system provided by the city of Raleigh and another provided by NCSU that takes you just about anywhere you need to go in Raleigh!
I am self employed and I have recently rented a 4 room business condo. One of the rooms is 10x10 with a hard wood laminate floor that's currently empty. I will have a pull out couch ready for those who wants to come to Raleigh for a little while. I use one room for the barbershop another room for a stylist and another room as a shampoo room, each of these is separated and has its own door. Its on the bus line and close to shopping malls, food, and fun. There is no kitchen, but I have a microwave and bathroom. This is a quiet place that's very clean and professional. I will be cutting hair so if you like you can hang out in the cutting area and meet cool people. No smoking, be clean, quiet and courteous.
I have 2 couches in my living room that are big and comfortable. I live with 2 other roomates in a 3 bedroom townhome, but we are all very friendly and we wouldn't mind someone staying on our couch. I live about 5 minutes away from NC State University, 10 minutes to downtown, and close to lots of shopping centers. The airport is about 15 minutes away, and if you need a ride, we could probably work something out. I am a college student in mechanical engineering, I like to go out on weekends and have a good time and party. My roomates usually aren't around much on the weekends, but we are all here studying on the weekdays. I'd love to host friendly, easy-going people, but no drugs.
Couch (futon, so more like a bed) in my 1 bedroom apartment within easy walking distance of downtown Raleigh. It's not particularly private, as the apartment plan is open, but the basics are covered. Public transport is pretty poor for long-range travel, so it will be easier to go to the airport (about 30 minutes away) and other cities in a car, but I am on the bus line and close to shops (including supermarkets), bars, restaurants, museums, and a coffee shop with wireless internet. Please buy your own food and toiletries, but feel free to share the kitchen, fridge space, toilet (shower and bath). I don't have a washer/dryer, but the laundry is nearby (easy walk with a full basket).
Small room with single bed in our small but roomy house in the Pinehurst, NC area. The name of the town is Aberdeen and it borders with the town of Southern Pines and Pinehurst, North Carolina. Pinehurst is famous for golf and the Sandhills region of North Carolina is a pleasant break from the busy Raleigh area. Raleigh is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away and the city of Fayetteville is a 45 minutes drive. It is a 2.5 hour drive to Columbia, South Carolina. Feel free to use the kitchen while you are here (you will have to buy your own food) and if we're away that would leave another room available (with a king size bed) and two sofas.
A large room with a big queen size bed and a small room with a comfortable single bed in my medium sized 3-bedroom single family home in the Cary suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina. We are very close to everything - shops, parks and restaurants. Downtown Raliegh is about a 10 to 15 minutes car trip. We are two hours away from the atlantic beaches and two and a half hours away from the beautiful Appalachian mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway National Park. Feel free to use the kitchen while you are here, but you will have to buy your own food. Our place would be a great base to explore eastern parts of the US by train or car.
We have a mattress that we put on the floor of our living room. We have a cozy one bedroom apartment 10 min from downtown Raleigh. We live right behind a mall, where there is a city bus stop which can take you almost anywhere you could need to go in the city. We have a small kitchen that can be used if you need to cook your own food, you can also use our washer and dryer and shower. We also have linens and towels if you need them. There are beautiful mountains and beaches within 2 hours of us and other great cities too. We are also about a 10 or 15 min drive away from the Raleigh/Durham Airport.
I will have the tent space available starting in January or February of 2007 because I will be Traveling around the US and in Ecuador until then. The tent space is in a pretty good neighborhood behind my house which I share with three friendly male housemates. The house isn't too far from some local restaurants and is about a 15-20 minute walk from downtown Raleigh. The space would only be available for short stays of 1 or 2 nights max. If there are special circumstances I'm willing to discuss a slightly longer stay but not much longer(3-5 nights max).
