PRIVATE ROOM IN A 3200 SQ FT. HOUSE @ 8000 FT. EVIVATION, BUILT INTO ROCKY, FORESTED HILLSIDE, WITH BREATHTAKING VIEWS AND SUNSETS, OVERLOKING THE SANTA FE VALLEY. HIKING IS IDEAL IN THIS AREA AS WE ARE BACKED UP TO THE U.S. FOREST WE ARE ON 5 ACRES, AND JUST 15 MINUTES BY CAR FROM DOWNTOWN PLAZA WHERE THERE ARE OVER 15 ART GALLERIES, WORLD CLASS MUSICAL EVENTS, INCLUDING A WIDLY ACCLAIMED SUMMER OPERA SEASON FROM JULY THROUGH AUGUST. THE AREA IS RICH IN ETHNIC SPANISH AND NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN CULTURE WITH EIGHT PUEBLOS WITHIN DRIVING DISTANCE. THERE ARE SEVERAL THEATRES SHOWING LIVE ENTERTAINMENT AS WELL AS FOREIGN FILM THEATRES AND A FILM FESTIVAL DURING THE WINTER. THERE IS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO THE HOUSE SO CAR RENTAL WOULD BE NECESSARY. WE HAVE SNOW DURING THE WINTER, AND WARM, DRY WEATHER DURING THE SUMMER, COOLED BY AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS.
I have a very nice spare bedroom with a queen size bed. My home is located on five acres of land 15 miles south of Santa Fe and surrounded by mountains. The house is a true adobe brick home with a courtyard, basketball court, two story observatory, work shop and guest house. The house is both passive and active solar, requiring very little heating and no cooling. Santa Fe is high desert at 7000' and the center of town is about 25 minutes north from my home. Albuquerque is about and hour south. A car is necessary, as there is no public transportation south of the city. You may use the kitchen, but please buy your own food. I am a very clean, open, honest person and I would expect nothing less of my guests, please. Also, no smoking.
don't worry the mattress is big and comfy, and high-end inflatable kind. I live in the triangle district... a more reasonably priced neighborhood with a couple pubs and an awesome bakery about a 10 min walk away. I am a 10 min. bike to the plaza, or a 4 min. drive. (I live about 3 miles from the center Plaza in historic Santa Fe.) I live with a 2 year old, a little dog, and a crazy single mother. If you do not like kids, or being up at 7 am then this is not the place for you. I will be unavaliable for hosting from last week of March to May. After taht I may be moving to the Seattle area with another freeloader where we will be able to have a more suitable space for travellers. happy trails!
Currently in a situation of moving, but will have a spare couch/room available in the future (after april'07) santa fe is a beautiful town with lots of history and culture. the landscape is phenomonal (a mix of mountains and desert), with activities ranging from skiing/boarding, to camping, swimming, etc. There is public transportation, a variety of resturants and fun places to hang out at all times.
I live in a "Santa Fe" style guesthouse on 3 acres about 8-10 minutes from downtown. I have a comfortable sofa for one traveler or 2 people can use my bedroom. Kitchen is open(with in reason). Public transportation is sketchy so I will do my best to get you around depending on my schedule. Can acommodte you for a couple of nights and if you are a smoker you have to do it outside.
Located about 20 miles from Santa Fe, New Mexico we live in a modest "adobe style" home in the village of Eldorado. We have a spare bedroom with a comfy queen size bed and a single bed in it as well as a bathroom nearby. You may use the kitchen, but you will have to purchase your own food. Our home is a good base from which you can explore northern New Mexico.
I am traveling Southeast Asia and India at the moment, so I can't do much for you, but I have family and many pals who usually have people coming and going, so that could work (and I could contact them for you). One house is in Tesuque, NM, nice and quiet, cool house, cozy, with cool people, rides often going to town, and damn good green-chile stew.
We live on a large ranch about 1 1/2 hours north of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Winter months will be blocked off due to weather and the 7 miles of unkept dirt road to get to the ranch. There is plenty of space to camp, but you will have to let us know when you are coming and going so that we can unlock the gate for you. We also have a spare bedroom.
unable to host at this time as we need to rent our attached apartment. If you are interested in renting a beautiful self-contained fully-equipped contemporary 1-bedroom apartment on the east side of Santa Fe, we can offer a special rate to Freeloaders of $65/night for 2 people, inclusive of wi-fi, utilities, use of laundry room.
spare room with one or two twin-sized beds. 15 minutes ourside of Santa Fe, beautiful country setting in high mountain desert. Hiking trails, mountains within short drives, in our location is a community pool in summer, tennis courts, soccer fields, basketball court, playground for kids. Use of kitchen okay and can eat with us.
