Guest room with queen bed, closet. Also spare areas in the house to set up sleeping bags and a tenting area in the yard. I have a 3 bedroom, semi-detached or duplex in charming, victorian small town central PA. I am a short walk from the center of town with restaurants, pubs, and a coffee shop. The Susquehanna River and Penn's Creek (one of the best trout streams in North America) flow past town. Canoe or kayak camping on the rivers is my favorite summer pastime. Excellent whitewater within an hour's drive. Backpacking or daytripping on Loyalsock, Midstate, or AT within an hour. Road and single track biking is phenomenal--roads where the only vehicles are Amish buggies! Motorcycling is fabulous too: curves ahead. The Susquehanna River valley is picturesque and buccolic, with lots of Amish and Mennonite farming communities, fresh local produce in the summer, pick your own fruit farms, and agricultural festivals in the fall. Susquehanna University and Bucknell University offer cultural and sporting events; Penn State is an hour west. Williamsport (home of the Little League World Championship) is 45 minutes north. Keep in mind that there is no public transit system! Kitchen and laundry facilities available for your use, but you provide your own supplies. This is a great base for spring-summer-fall outdoor getaways, fishing, backpacking, biking, canoing, kayaking, or visiting the universities and attending festivals.
